To use GPS attendance you must allow our system to create a geo-fence of your classroom. You only have to do this once per class and then our semester will remember for future attendance sessions. First, be sure you are standing within your classroom, then select ‘attendance set-up’ in the attendance tab. Choose your duration and point value and click, ‘Save & Continue’. We recommend your on your mobile device so the accuracy is the best it can be, and click ‘Yes’ if your in the desired classroom. Your ready to go! Now just select ‘Take Attendance’ in the future. Keep in mind for every class you have that is in a different location you will have to set a new location.
Auto-session allows you to automate and schedule your attendance through the entire duration of your class. Imagine a world where after you set-up attendance you never have to access the app again, and your students just select check-in and all attendance is automatically populated into your grade book. You can set this feature up within the attendance tab under ‘Attendance Setup’. There turn on ‘Auto-sessions’ and schedule for the desired time you want attendance check-ins to automatically be pushed to your students. We recommend at the beginning or end of your class time, or both.
The ‘Create Assessment’ tab is where you can build any type of individual question or set of questions. These include our varying types such as multiple choice, free response, true/false, matching, etc. Here your can award specific points and names. Following creation you then can move them over to complete questions where are they are ready to be sent in the ‘Send Assessments’ tab. We split the two up so you understand you have one area for creation, and one area to send question(s) during your class hours.
The inbox is the area where students can send direct questions or messages to you. Typically, most teachers encourage this during class hours, so students who normally would not ask questions choose to do so. Each question a student asks will be sent to your inbox, where if you monitor during class you can respond in real-time, otherwise you can respond directly through the CourseKey system and the student will be pinged via their email address.
Typically, we recommend passing this on to our MyTA service that comes free with CourseKey. Our folks at MyTA are trained to take care of this for you so you don’t have the headache.

In most cases, your location settings are turned off and you are not allowing the CourseKey application to access your location. You just need to go into your browser or app settings and allow CourseKey to access. In some rare cases, your device may be having a hard time communicating with our platform. If this seems to be the problem reach out to our support and we’ll get it working.

It happens more than you think.  It is important to make sure it is correct so your grades are properly moved over to your campus’ learning management system. Just select your profile in the top right, select settings, and select edit student ID.
